BART ACCESSIBILITY IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM: PHASE II
SF Bay Area, CA
The BART Accessibility Improvement Program (AIP) aims to enhance infrastructure across BART stations, ensuring greater accessibility and inclusivity. Phase 2 of this initiative focused on upgrading accessibility features at 11 BART stations along the A-line, L-line, R-line, K-line, and C-line of the BART system.
This project required extensive coordination with BART, AC Transit, and local municipalities to secure the necessary permits and streamline logistics, as much of the construction took place during revenue service hours. Temporary bus bays were strategically relocated during the construction phases, with well-placed wayfinding signage guiding patrons seamlessly throughout business hours.
The primary objective was to complete these improvements while maintaining uninterrupted access for patrons, ensuring they could navigate the construction zones safely and efficiently.
